'Alumination' (2017).jpg

Varying sizes from approximately:
5cm x 10cm x 10cm upto 3cm x 10cm x 30cm

Alumination is a group of six works in varying shapes and sizes, which are comprised of charred scaffold boards and holly branch rounds with aluminium cast directly upon them.

Having found a new passion in casting metal onto wood, I returned to Carmarthen School Of Art in September 2017 to experiment casting metals with different melting points and to record the difference in reaction.
With aluminium having a relatively low melting point between 600 - 700 degrees centigrade it was a good metal to start with.
